Three (3) Blogs Worth RSS Feeding
  • Boing Boing: A directory of wonderful things indeed. A blog with no real uniting concept except that everything posted is pretty cool. Also worth checking out are their sister sites Offworld (a gaming blog) and the somewhat self-explanatory Boing Boing Gadgets
  • io9: The Sci-Fi outlet of the Gawker media empire. io9 showed up a little over a year ago and has thoroughly established itself as the go to blog for Genre fiction. Notable posts include this review of Transformers 2 that's better than the movie itself.
  • Make Online: DIY tech, it's a thing. People make Altoids tins into musical instruments and laser etch their laptops with the level designs from Super Mario Land. Cool stuff even if it just makes you jealous you don't have the technical ability to do all of it.
Two (2) Concepts Worth Blogging

  • Augmented Reality: I was following this for the last few months as it blew up from an obscure science fiction idea of overlaying reality with digital data to a moderately huge idea in the blogosphere. Another year and the New York Times will probably have the story. It'll be really interesting to watch a concept like this as it transitions from nerd mainstream acceptance to ACTUAL mainstream acceptance.
  • Comics: So comics are in a strange place right now. Look at Disney buying Marvel, does anybody really think they paid 4 billion dollars to publish Amazing Spiderman? Comics are racing toward mainstream acceptance but NOT in the medium of comics. Which is WEIRD. Meanwhile the medium of comics is being influenced in ten different ways by the internet and the physically published comics are still doing their best to ignore it.
